Karma Automotive, a California-based manufacturer that emerged from the remnants of Fisker's initial bankruptcy, has officially launched its newest four-door extended-range grand tourer. The 2027 Karma Gyesera Grand Coupe is poised to hit showrooms in December with a starting price of $139,995, representing a significant $35,000 reduction compared to its discontinued predecessor, the Revero. This new model signifies Karma's commitment to advancing hybrid electric vehicle technology, offering an appealing blend of performance, luxury, and extended range capabilities to consumers.

The Gyesera is presented as Karma Automotive's next-generation hybrid electric vehicle (EREV), built upon a robust aluminum space frame and incorporating substantial carbon fiber-reinforced composites in its exterior design. This construction method marks a subtle evolution from the Revero, which utilized a similar space frame chassis adorned with composite and aluminum body panels. Despite these advancements, the Gyesera subtly retains design cues from the original Fisker Karma, a testament to Henrik Fisker's initial vision for an aesthetically pleasing automobile. Engineered for four occupants, the Gyesera Grand Coupe integrates the latest iteration of Karma Automotive's extended-range powertrain, known as HRL15665. The vehicle features a rear-mounted electric motor delivering 566 horsepower and 546 pound-feet of torque, complemented by a 28.1-kilowatt-hour high-voltage battery. A front-mounted gasoline engine functions exclusively as a generator for the battery, extending the vehicle's travel capabilities. With both a fully charged battery and a full tank of fuel, the Gyesera achieves an impressive combined range of up to 360 miles, with 80 of those miles powered solely by electricity.
