NASCAR Team's Penalty Adjusted After Appeals Panel Review
The National Motorsports Appeals Panel adjusted the penalty imposed on Chris Buescher’s RFK Racing team following an appeal. Initially penalized 60 points for exceeding the allowable bonded area on the front bumper cover after the Kansas race, the panel reduced this to 30 points due to insufficient rule clarity regarding exhaust panel trimming. The team also lost five playoff points, faced a $75,000 fine, and Buescher's crew chief, Scott Graves, served a two-race suspension. This amendment moved Buescher from 23rd to 16th in championship standings. RFK Racing expressed satisfaction with the decision and aims to focus on future competitions.
