BYD's New Denza N8: A Five-Seater Electric SUV with Remarkable Range and Rapid Charging

Experience Unbound Electric Driving: The Denza N8 Delivers Range and Speed
The Evolution of the Denza N8: From Hybrid to All-Electric Powerhouse
Initially introduced to the Chinese market in 2023 as a luxurious mid-to-large plug-in hybrid SUV, the Denza N8 offered a combined CLTC range of 1,003 km. Despite its initial offering in six and seven-seat configurations, the hybrid model was discontinued due to sales performance, paving the way for a revolutionary all-electric iteration.
Next-Generation Electric Performance: Unveiling the All-Electric Denza N8
The new Denza N8 emerges as a purely electric vehicle, equipped with BYD's cutting-edge Blade Batteries 2.0. This upgrade propels the vehicle to an impressive 1,003 km pure electric range, mirroring the long-distance capabilities of its hybrid predecessor but with zero emissions. This achievement positions the Denza N8 at the forefront of electric vehicle range performance globally.
Revolutionary Charging: Five Minutes to Freedom with Flash Charging Technology
Beyond its extensive range, the Denza N8 introduces BYD's advanced Flash Charging technology. This groundbreaking feature allows the SUV to replenish its battery from 10% to 70% in a mere five minutes, and achieve a 10% to 97% charge in just nine minutes. Such rapid charging significantly enhances convenience, making long journeys more feasible and reducing range anxiety for drivers.
Dimensions and Powertrain: A Glimpse into the Denza N8's Engineering Marvel
Recent disclosures from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) have revealed key specifications for the new Denza N8 EV. Measuring 5,150 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,820 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,075 mm, the five-seat SUV is substantial. It is powered by a robust 130.15 kWh battery pack, underpinning its remarkable electric range. Prospective buyers will have the choice between a single rear-wheel-drive (RWD) system, offering up to 496 hp, or a formidable tri-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration. The AWD variant combines a 270 kW front motor with two 310 kW rear motors, culminating in a colossal 1,193 hp, all built upon BYD’s advanced e3 platform. Aesthetically, the electric N8 maintains a close resemblance to the Denza N8L, launched earlier with Flash Charging capabilities.
