BYD's New 7-Seater SUV Arrives in the UK Market at a Competitive Price

BYD has introduced its first seven-seater SUV, the Ti 7, to the European and UK markets, positioning it as a more affordable alternative to established models like the Land Rover Defender PHEV. This new plug-in hybrid SUV is set to make a significant impact with its competitive pricing and advanced features.
The Ti 7 is powered by BYD's innovative DM-p (Dual Mode performance) powertrain, which integrates three electric motors with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine to deliver a combined 402 horsepower. This allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds, demonstrating its impressive performance capabilities. Despite its power, the vehicle also boasts remarkable efficiency, with a 35.6 kWh BYD Blade Battery providing an all-electric range of up to 74 miles, extending to 102 miles in urban settings. The vehicle's design, characterized by a robust and boxy aesthetic, echoes the popular Land Rover Defender and Toyota Land Cruiser, while its interior offers premium amenities such as acoustic glass for a quiet cabin, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated seats, and even a built-in refrigerator and drinks warmer.
The Ti 7 is available in the UK exclusively in the flagship Excellence AWD trim, which includes a high level of standard equipment. It features a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, a 10.25-inch driver display, and an 18-speaker sound system. The flexible interior layout allows for a total boot capacity of 1,830 liters when the second and third rows are folded. Starting at £47,995, the Ti 7 is considerably less expensive than the Defender 110 PHEV, which begins at £71,840. Customers can place pre-orders with a £500 deposit, with deliveries anticipated to commence in January 2027.
The arrival of the BYD Ti 7 in the UK market signifies a compelling new option for consumers seeking a spacious, powerful, and efficient SUV. Its strategic pricing and feature-rich offering underscore BYD's commitment to delivering value and innovation, pushing the boundaries of what is expected in the plug-in hybrid segment and encouraging broader adoption of sustainable transportation solutions.
