Despite Audi's clear strategy to limit these models to China, an independent entity known as Auto China is facilitating their import and sale across the continent. These Chinese-market EVs feature impressive technical specifications, including 800- and 900-volt platforms and sophisticated interiors that resemble modern entertainment hubs. For instance, the E5 Sportback boasts a powerful dual-motor setup delivering 776 horsepower and a 100 kWh battery. Remarkably, even after covering shipping and homologation costs, the E5 Sportback is priced approximately €28,000 ($32,500) lower than the European S6 Sportback e-tron, which offers less power with a similar battery capacity. Similarly, the E7X SUV, despite its larger size and advanced features like Lidar, comes with a starting price of around €86,800 ($100,700) in Europe, including VAT, making it more affordable than the smaller, less equipped Audi SQ6 e-tron.
