Former Formula 1 racer Karun Chandhok has indicated that Esteban Ocon might be feeling apprehensive about his current position with the Haas team. This concern stems from the impressive displays of his teammate, Ollie Bearman.

Chandhok emphasized Ocon's concerning qualifying record, stating, "He would be feeling twitchy, wouldn't he? Because he's now down 8-3 on qualifying across all the sessions that you can compare them. That's not a good score."

The former driver further elaborated on Ocon's recent struggles, noting, "Even at the weekend, he was a long way behind in the race, and maybe there are issues, but that's a big gap. I don't know who the alternatives are."

Haas is reportedly evaluating young talents such as Leonardo Fornaroli and Rafael Camara as potential candidates for the 2027 season. Chandhok highlighted the strong ties between Ferrari and Haas, noting that Ferrari has already facilitated Bearman's placement within the team. He speculated that Ferrari might consider placing their current Formula 2 standout, Rafael Camara, at Haas, given his impressive performance in F2. Chandhok personally expressed a preference for Camara, arguing for the inclusion of a "young hotshot." He reasoned that with Bearman already possessing significant experience, entering his third year next season, and an established experienced primary driver already in place, introducing a promising young talent like Camara makes strategic sense. This would also provide a clear succession plan if Bearman were to advance to Ferrari in the future, allowing Camara to seamlessly step into a leading role.

I'm super happy.” He further elaborated on the team's appeal, noting, “I think Gresini is a very nice place. I think that they were looking for something very similar to me. We could raise all the efforts a little bit.” The Spanish rider emphasized his renewed drive, adding, “After four difficult years here where I am, I'm hungry to do something more. I think Gresini was the best option for me. All the riders that they had were successful. So this is something that gives me plenty of confidence. And I am looking forward to it.”

I think that is promising.”
