Stellantis Unveils BOW Driverless Concept: The Autonomous 'Box On Wheels'











Stellantis has introduced an innovative solution for urban cargo transportation: the BOW (Box On Wheels) concept. This all-electric, autonomous delivery vehicle redefines the traditional van by removing the conventional driver's cab, including the windshield, dashboard, and seating. The design emphasizes efficiency and functionality, focusing entirely on the delivery of goods within specific operational areas.
Unveiled at IAA Transportation in Hannover, Germany, the BOW concept is a collaboration between Stellantis Pro One and autonomy specialist UQI Robotics. It represents a forward-thinking approach to last-mile logistics, particularly in controlled environments. Stellantis envisions BOW operating within factory complexes, hospital grounds, airport facilities, and designated low-emission urban zones, where the movement of goods can be managed autonomously with greater precision and safety.
The core philosophy behind BOW is to create a vehicle centered around its primary function: cargo transport. By eliminating the need for a human driver interface, the design maximizes space for packages and streamlines the delivery process.
