2027 Ford F-150 Unveiled with Enhanced Engine Options and a Special Carhartt Edition

Experience Power and Style: The Future of the Ford F-150 is Here!
Next-Generation Base Engine: A Boost in Daily Performance
The 2027 Ford F-150 will feature a new 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 as its standard engine, replacing the previous 2.7-liter unit. While delivering the same 325 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque, this larger engine is designed to provide a more refined and responsive driving experience for everyday use, according to Ford's chief program engineer, Kelly Kohlstrand.
Expanded V8 Accessibility and Consistent Powertrain Options
Enthusiasts will be pleased to learn that the 400-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 engine is now accessible across a broader range of F-150 trims, including the premium King Ranch and Platinum models. This move makes the powerful V8 available from the entry-level XL to the high-end Platinum. Other engine options, such as the 3.5-liter EcoBoost and the 3.5-liter PowerBoost hybrid, which boasts 425 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque, will continue to be offered. The high-performance F-150 Raptor and Raptor R models will retain their existing 3.5-liter EcoBoost and supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engines, respectively. Additionally, the XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum trims will showcase refreshed grille designs and updated wheel aesthetics, characterized by a wider split-bar motif that complements the new wheel designs.
Introducing the Robust F-150 Carhartt Package
Following a successful collaboration on the Super Duty line, Ford and Carhartt are extending their partnership to the 2027 F-150 with a new Carhartt Package. Priced at $4,195, this exclusive package is available for 4x4 XLT Crew Cab models. It includes unique anodized wheels and trim, distinctive Carhartt graphics, and a branded spray-in bedliner. The interior features a stylish two-tone design with seats embroidered with the Carhartt logo, which also appears on the rear map pockets. The steering wheel and door panels receive special accent stitching, with the full-color Carhartt logo prominently displayed on the engine. Orders for the 2027 F-150 Carhartt are open now, with deliveries anticipated to commence early next year. The starting price for this special edition will be $62,660, excluding destination charges, which are projected to bring the total to around $65,455.
Updated Pricing and Market Positioning
The 2027 Ford F-150 will have a starting MSRP of $40,585, which includes a $2,795 destination charge. This represents a $500 increase from the previous model year for the rear-wheel-drive, entry-level F-150 XL Regular Cab. Ford plans to release a comprehensive pricing breakdown closer to the truck's official launch. These strategic updates, including the more powerful base engine, broader V8 availability, and distinctive Carhartt package, are designed to keep the F-150 competitive against rivals like the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Ram, which are also introducing new features.
