Powder Springs Set to Host Vibrant Independence Day Celebration

This Friday, Powder Springs is preparing for an exciting annual Fourth of July event filled with live music, family-friendly activities, and a dazzling fireworks display. Taking place in the downtown area and Thurman Springs Park, this free public celebration will run from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m., offering something for everyone. The program includes performances by renowned bands, food and arts vendors, a car show, and special entertainment for children. Attendees can look forward to a grand finale with fireworks lighting up the night sky at approximately 9:30 p.m.
As part of the festivities, the evening's musical lineup features Black Lion Reggae, who will take the stage at 6 p.m. to present a unique blend of classic and modern reggae hits. Following their performance, The A Town A List will captivate the audience starting at 8 p.m. with a dynamic show that combines music, dance, and theater. For younger guests, there will be a variety show hosted by Doc Magic, which promises laughter and amazement through magic tricks, comedy routines, and balloon artistry. These shows are scheduled to occur multiple times throughout the evening.
A highlight of the event is the Fourth of July Celebration Cruise-In, now in its fourth year. This popular attraction allows car enthusiasts to exhibit both vintage and contemporary vehicles along Marietta Street. Participants can register online without any fees, though all cars must arrive under their own power—trailered entries won't be accepted. Prizes will be awarded for top categories such as Judges' Choice, People's Choice, and Best of Show.
To accommodate visitors, several parking options are available. Paid premier parking managed by Cornerstone Parking will operate at select downtown locations, accepting payments via cash or card. Free alternatives include spots at the Brownsville Road lot and church parking areas nearby. Additionally, a complimentary shuttle service will operate from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m., while designated handicap parking will be accessible for those displaying appropriate permits.
With its diverse attractions and convenient amenities, Powder Springs invites residents and tourists alike to join in celebrating America's independence with style and spirit. Further information regarding the event can be found on the official city website.
