A key differentiator for the Rogue e-Power is its distinctive series-hybrid powertrain. Electric motors directly power the wheels, while a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine functions primarily as a generator to charge a compact 2-kilowatt-hour battery or supply power to the electric motors. Following a user's plea on Twitter for the cars to avoid road hazards, Musk responded with the familiar phrase, "coming soon." This statement, which reportedly contributed to a temporary surge in Tesla's stock, underscores the persistent challenge potholes pose, not only to American infrastructure but also to FSD's effectiveness. Despite Tesla's claim of being a leader in "physical AI" and possessing vast amounts of training data, the system has historically struggled with or simply ignored potholes. Kia Unveils PV7 Electric Van, Expanding Its Commercial EV Lineup

Kia is poised to launch its newest fully electric van, the PV7, following the strong market performance of its predecessor, the PV5. With its official unveiling slated for less than a month away, Kia has provided an initial glimpse into this larger electric vehicle, signaling its continued commitment to the commercial EV sector.

The PV5 has already established itself as a leading small electric van in Europe, capturing a significant 37% of the market share during the first half of the year. In several European nations, it accounts for over 50% of C-segment EV van sales. Globally, Kia has sold approximately 39,000 PV5 units through August. While new PV5 variants are continuously being introduced, the company is now channeling its efforts into the launch of the PV7, the second model in its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) series.

Although previously known to be scheduled for release in 2027, Kia has now confirmed the precise debut date for the PV7. The electric van will be fully revealed at the IAA Transportation 2026 event in Hanover, Germany, which will take place from September 14th (press day) to September 20th. In anticipation of this event, Kia has released a series of images and videos offering a preliminary view of the PV7. These early previews clearly indicate that the PV7 is substantially longer than the PV5.

While specific details about the PV7 are yet to be announced, it is confirmed that the vehicle will utilize the same modular E-GMP.S platform as the PV5. The PV7 concept, showcased at CES 2024, measured 5,270 mm in length, 2,065 mm in width, and 2,120 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,390 mm. These dimensions significantly surpass those of the PV5 Passenger variant, which measures 4,695 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,915 mm in height, with a 2,995 mm wheelbase.

Recent prototype sightings have further corroborated the official teasers. The PV7 has been observed undergoing public testing on multiple occasions in the lead-up to its debut. A few weeks prior, it was photographed on a car carrier in Korea, with video footage from HealerTV demonstrating that the PV7's wheelbase is almost equivalent to the size of the truck it was transporting. Similar to the PV5, the PV7 is expected to incorporate Hyundai's advanced Pleos Connect infotainment system and integrated fleet management software.

Kia has stated that the PV7 is designed to provide "a new mobility experience" catering to a diverse range of customer needs, spanning professional work environments, daily commuting, and recreational activities, through its expansive and adaptable interior. This larger electric van will be offered in several configurations, with previews already showing both Passenger and Cargo versions, mirroring the options available for the PV5.

Further details will be disclosed at the September event, where the PV7 will officially debut. Additionally, Kia will outline its future PBV strategies and present new derivatives of the PV5. Since its market introduction at the close of 2025, the PV5 has surpassed Kia's initial sales projections, with over 39,000 units sold by August.
