The company's product portfolio boasts advanced heavy-lift electric cranes from the HCE-series, alongside the MCE-series container cranes. The latter, particularly pertinent to contemporary maritime operations, utilizes electric servos to achieve superior placement accuracy and reliable performance even in adverse cold-weather conditions. These electric systems consume up to 60% less energy compared to conventional hydraulic counterparts, offering not only improved precision but also completely eliminating the risks associated with hydraulic oil leaks. Such features make them an ideal choice for major port facilities like the Port of Los Angeles and the Port of New York and New Jersey, which are heavily investing in decarbonization and environmental cleanup initiatives. The intrinsic characteristics of these electric cranes, such as their robust cold-weather functionality and precise servo-driven placement, also pave the way for easier integration of future automation technologies.
A significant development in this regard was MacGregor's recent presentation of its autonomous maritime crane prototype during the inaugural demonstration day of the EU-funded SEAMLESS project.
