Two decades later, the solitary CCGT prototype has been meticulously restored and is now poised to finally enter a GT1 historic racing series. This new model is built upon the foundation of the Koenigsegg CC850 but amplifies its performance to an extraordinary degree. The CCGT1 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, capable of producing an astounding 1280 horsepower on standard fuel, which escalates to a formidable 1600 hp when powered by corn-based E85, surpassing the CC850's maximum output by 215 horsepower.

While it shares its roots with the CC850, every exterior panel of the CCGT1, excluding the roof and doors, has been comprehensively re-engineered. These modifications are specifically designed to optimize downforce and cooling efficiency. The vehicle's most striking feature is its colossal rear wing, an active aerodynamic component offering 30 degrees of adjustment. This wing intelligently adapts its settings during braking, cornering, or high-speed straights to maximize performance. Complementing the rear wing, the front of the car features a substantial splitter and active underbody flaps. Together, these aerodynamic elements generate approximately 1763 pounds of downforce at 155 mph. The bodywork also incorporates Koenigsegg's innovative 'Ghost Fibre,' a lightweight material akin to carbon fiber.

The powertrain of the CCGT1 includes a bespoke transmission, featuring a nine-speed sequential shifter that utilizes a clutch pedal for initial engagement and allows for clutchless shifts while in motion by momentarily cutting the ignition. This system pays homage to the original CCGT's design, though a more conventional gated six-speed shifter is also available as an option. Inside the cabin, the CCGT1 maintains a focused and minimalistic design.
