The previous method, primarily relying on steering-wheel torque detection, was deemed insufficient in prompting drivers when their gaze strayed from the road, thereby increasing the potential for accidents. The enhancement involves integrating cabin-camera monitoring to track a driver's eye movements, supplementing the established steering-wheel torque monitoring.
