Rivian R1S and R1T Get Updates for 2027, Including New Seating Option
Rivian has introduced several strategic adjustments to its R1S and R1T models for the 2027 model year, building upon the substantial revisions made in 2025. These latest changes focus on refining the trim hierarchy and enhancing interior functionality, notably with the addition of second-row captain's chairs for the R1S SUV—a feature eagerly awaited by consumers. The entry-level R1 Premium boasts 533 horsepower, with an optional upgrade boosting output to 655 hp and 829 lb-ft of torque, reducing its 0-60 mph acceleration time from 4.5 to 3.4 seconds. The R1T Premium also offers a long-range battery option, providing up to 420 miles of travel. The R1T Premium starts at $79,990, with the Long Range variant at $86,990, and the R1T Quad at $115,990. The R1S Premium begins at $83,990, its long-range counterpart at $90,990, and the R1S Quad at $121,990. The optional power upgrade for Premium trims in both body styles is priced at an additional $5,000.
