A Growing Family of Automotive Enthusiasts

The Mi Vida Car Club is not just a collection of car owners; it's a tight-knit community of automotive enthusiasts. "It's a four-chapter, car club. It's all Arizona and Sonora brothers, but we're just a small club, but it's a big family," describes Gil Ruiz, the club's president and co-founder. This sense of camaraderie and shared passion is what sets the Mi Vida Car Club apart, creating a welcoming atmosphere for both participants and spectators.

In addition to the classic car display, the festival will feature a variety of food vendors, offering a tantalizing array of local delicacies, including the iconic elote (grilled corn). "We're gonna have tacos, tamales, elote. Every vendor needs to have some type of elote, so these vendors come up with so many unique ideas. They even battle it for the best vendor," says Brissa Garcia, a member of the cornfest committee.Furthermore, the festival coincides with the celebration of Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead), and the event will feature activities and decorations to honor the lives of those who have passed. "Nov. 2 is also Dia De Los Muertos, so the event will have activities and decor to celebrate the lives of those no longer with us," Garcia explains.

Giving Back to the Community

The Somerton Corn Festival is not just a celebration of cars and culture; it's also an opportunity to give back to the community. The proceeds from the event will be used to support Somerton High School and other local organizations, helping them with essential needs such as uniforms and club funding. "Help them with their uniforms, anything that they need, the clubs, and who better than with the Mi Vida Car Club who care about their whole community," says Garcia. This commitment to community involvement is a testament to the Mi Vida Car Club's dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of those around them. By attending the Somerton Corn Festival, visitors can not only enjoy the stunning classic cars and delicious local cuisine but also contribute to the betterment of the community.
