Guevara's Current Performance and Future Aspirations
Guevara, a 22-year-old Spanish sensation and a product of Yamaha's dedicated rider development initiative, is currently showcasing remarkable form in his fourth Moto2 season. He is a strong contender for the championship title, fiercely battling rivals like Manu Gonzales and Senna Agius. Despite the remaining 10 races, he holds a commendable second place, trailing Gonzales by 42.5 points. Expressing his profound joy, Guevara stated that reaching MotoGP has always been his ultimate ambition, acknowledging the immense effort and support from his family, team, and mentors. He remains focused on excelling in Moto2, aiming to conclude this chapter of his career with exceptional results.
Early Career Success and Progression
Guevara's potential was evident early on, as he clinched the Moto3 title in only his second season with the Aspar team. Following a challenging period in the intermediate class in 2023, his move to Pramac’s Moto2 squad proved to be a turning point. This change revitalized his performance, culminating in a memorable victory at the Valencia finale. His impressive form continued into the current season, marked by a win at Le Mans and additional podium finishes in Austin and the Sachsenring.
Yamaha's Confidence in Guevara's Potential
Paolo Pavesio, a key figure at Yamaha, lauded Guevara's remarkable growth and enhanced maturity on the track. Pavesio highlighted that the upcoming technical regulation changes in MotoGP for 2027 present a perfect scenario for Guevara to make his premier class debut. He emphasized that Guevara's promotion exemplifies the success of Yamaha's BLU CRU program, which aims to nurture new talent. Pavesio believes that Guevara's undeniable talent, coupled with his improved work ethic, determination, and consistency, makes him an ideal candidate to thrive in the new era of MotoGP.
