Hyundai celebrated an exceptional sales performance in July, setting a new benchmark. The Korean automaker successfully delivered 82,480 vehicles across the United States, representing a 4.0 percent rise compared to the same period last year. This growth was significantly bolstered by the strong showing of its more budget-friendly models, which effectively counteracted reduced sales in other segments like the Palisade, Santa Fe, and Kona. Nevertheless, SUVs maintained their market dominance, constituting 73.0 percent of total sales, largely spearheaded by the popular Tucson model. The Elantra also demonstrated remarkable growth, with sales climbing 39.0 percent, nearly matching the Tucson's figures with 17,115 sedans sold against 19,714 Tucson SUVs. Year-to-date, Hyundai's U.S. sales have seen a 3.0 percent increase, totaling 533,048 vehicles.

A notable factor in Hyundai's recent success is the booming popularity of its hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs). Despite a modest overall sales increase, HEV sales skyrocketed by 35.0 percent in July, achieving a personal best for the month. Even more significantly, the Ioniq 6 saw a drastic 92 percent decrease, selling merely 76 units, while the Ioniq 9's sales also fell by 35 percent year-over-year.
