On Sunday, September 15th, the post will be the epicenter of a steak and omelet breakfast fundraiser and a captivating car/truck show, all designed to raise funds for the Rifle Squad and Color Guard's vital operations.

The Plover VFW Rifle Squad and Color Guard play a crucial role in honoring the service and sacrifice of local veterans. These dedicated individuals provide military honors at veteran funerals, lead ceremonies on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and present the colors at various community events. The funds raised from this event will directly support the procurement of essential equipment and uniforms, ensuring the squad can continue its solemn duties with the utmost professionalism and respect.Beyond the ceremonial responsibilities, the Rifle Squad also contributes to the education and development of the next generation. They allocate a portion of the proceeds to fund scholarships for a high school senior and an Outstanding Cadet at the annual UWSP ROTC Military Ball. This investment in the future leaders of our community is a testament to the VFW's commitment to fostering patriotism and civic engagement.

The centerpiece of the event is the mouthwatering steak and omelet breakfast, which will be served from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Attendees can indulge in a steak and omelet combo for $12 or a sausage and omelet combo for $9.50. Both meals come with a delectable array of side dishes, including hash browns, buttermilk or potato pancakes, toast, and a choice of coffee, milk, tomato juice, or orange juice. For the younger guests, a children's plate is available for $4.75.The Plover VFW Auxiliary will also be hosting a bake sale during the breakfast, with the proceeds benefiting the auxiliary's initiatives.
