The Faricy Boys Salida dealership took on the mantle of hosting a car show, a beloved tradition that had previously been organized by the Angel of Shavano Car Show. Recognizing the importance of this event to the local community, the dealership's General Manager, Brandon Bizzell, stepped up to ensure its continuation. "Last spring, I found out that Chaffee County Search and Rescue wasn't going to be able to continue with the Angel of Shavano Car Show," Bizzell explained. "We felt obligated to kind of pick up that car show."The decision to host the event was driven by the dealership's deep-rooted connection to the Chaffee County Search and Rescue team. "I've got a ton of staff here that support Search and Rescue," Bizzell shared. "They're super appreciative, and we are super proud to carry this on into the future."A Community Effort
The success of the car show was the result of a collaborative effort between the Faricy Boys Salida team and dedicated community members. Gene and Joan Hapl, a former Search and Rescue member and his wife, played a crucial role in organizing the event. "For the dealership to step up for us car people to do this at the dealership is incredible," Gene Hapl expressed.The Hapls' involvement extended beyond the event itself, as they had previously gone around the region, soliciting donations and spreading the word.
