Maserati Unveils One-Off GT2 Stradale Fuoriserie in Homage to MC12 Legacy

Maserati has unveiled a bespoke GT2 Stradale Fuoriserie, a singular creation born from its esteemed customization division. This exceptional vehicle made its debut at the Villa La Massa Excellence 2026 event, positioned alongside its historical muse, the legendary MC12 racing car. This new model represents Maserati's ongoing tradition of honoring its illustrious motorsport heritage through special road-going tributes.
The prestigious concours d'elegance, hosted from October 16 to 18 at a historical estate on the Arno River near Florence, provided the perfect backdrop for this unveiling. Maserati crafted this unique car for a private collector, meticulously adapting the championship-winning aesthetics of the MC12 to a contemporary high-performance automobile.
The journey of this customized vehicle began with an in-depth dialogue between the discerning owner and the Maserati factory. The brand's 'Fuoriserie' program is renowned for its collaborative creation process, where Maserati's design experts work intimately with clients to realize their specific visions. This encompasses everything from exterior bodywork and interior finishes to intricate detailing and specialized equipment, ensuring each commission is a deeply personal expression of automotive artistry.
This particular GT2 Stradale Fuoriserie is adorned in a striking metallic Blu Victory paint scheme, a hue specifically selected to commemorate the numerous titles secured by the MC12 in the World GT1 Championship. A prominent Bianco Pastello trident emblem graces the matte-carbon roof, with the same white tone accentuating the Maserati lettering on the rear wing. Further racing-inspired touches are evident, such as a white number plate featuring the Italian flag, the word "Italy," and the number 33 in vibrant red. The black anodized center-lock wheels are finished with white emblems, while the interior boasts blue Alcantara upholstery complemented by black-stitched tridents on the headrests.
A deeply personal element distinguishes this vehicle: at the client's special request, Andrea Bertolini, Maserati’s esteemed Reference Driver and Racing Advisor, personally signed the engine bay. Bertolini's signature holds significant meaning, as he piloted the MC12 during its championship-winning era and claimed the 2010 FIA GT1 World Championship title at its wheel, cementing his place in Maserati's racing folklore.
The MC12 holds a significant place in Maserati's history, having amassed an impressive record of 22 victories and 14 titles between 2004 and 2010. These triumphs included two Constructors' Cups, five Drivers' Championships, and six Team Championships, marking Maserati's triumphant return to international GT racing after a 37-year hiatus. The vehicle also achieved three victories at the 24 Hours of Spa in 2005, 2006, and 2008—a remarkable feat for that race—along with second-place finishes in 2007 and 2009. The underlying GT2 Stradale, a road-legal iteration of the Maserati GT2 race car, carries this rich competitive legacy into a new generation. Manufactured at the historic Viale Ciro Menotti plant in Modena, it is powered by a Nettuno V6 engine delivering 631 horsepower, capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in approximately 2.8 seconds and reaching a top speed close to 200 mph. Maserati proudly states that this vehicle is its most performance-oriented road car to date, a claim supported by its lightweight construction and track-optimized aerodynamics.
This extraordinary machine will not remain a static exhibit for long. Following its display at the concours, both the GT2 Stradale Fuoriserie and the MC12 participated in the Car Show and Contest held in the villa's gardens on October 17. The following day, October 18, the GT2 Stradale was scheduled for the Mugello Track Experience, demonstrating its capabilities where its racing predecessors once dominated.
