Kia PV5 7-Seater Electric Van Price Reduction in the UK

The seven-seater Kia PV5 electric van has seen a notable price reduction in the UK market, making it a more accessible option for consumers. This change comes as the vehicle now qualifies for the government's Electric Car Grant (ECG), effectively lowering its starting price to £35,495. This development is poised to boost the appeal of the PV5 Passenger model, which is already celebrated for its generous interior dimensions and practical design, further solidifying Kia's competitive stance in the burgeoning electric vehicle sector.
Initially, the Kia PV5, which represents the brand's inaugural dedicated electric van, was introduced in two primary configurations: a Cargo version for commercial applications and a Passenger variant tailored for family use. In June, Kia expanded its offering with the launch of the PV5 Passenger 7-seat model for the 2027 lineup, featuring a unique 2-2-3 seating arrangement. This design greatly enhances passenger comfort, boasting impressive legroom of up to 1,732 mm, headroom of up to 1,075 mm, and shoulder room also reaching 1,732 mm, setting new standards for spaciousness in its class.
Following the initial announcement of the 2027 PV5 lineup, Kia confirmed that all five-seat versions would be eligible for a £1,500 government Electric Car Grant. The company also indicated that a decision regarding the eligibility of the seven-seater model would be made shortly. True to their word, Kia recently declared that all grades of the PV5 Passenger 7-seater also qualify for the same £1,500 grant. This critical endorsement means the seven-seat electric people mover is now available from an on-the-road price of just £35,495.
The seven-seat PV5 electric van is exclusively equipped with a long-range 71.2 kWh battery in the UK, providing an estimated WLTP range of up to 246 miles. For added convenience, the vehicle supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW, allowing its battery to be recharged from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes. This feature significantly reduces downtime and enhances the vehicle's practicality for daily use and longer journeys.
The Kia PV5, available in both Cargo and Passenger variants, can be ordered through authorized Kia PBV centers across the UK. Kia continues to expand its electric vehicle portfolio in the UK, which includes new models like the EV2, EV3, EV4, and the PV5 Passenger, all of which are eligible for the ECG. This comprehensive lineup underscores Kia's commitment to electric mobility and its strategic effort to cater to diverse customer needs. Looking ahead, Kia plans to introduce the larger PV7 electric van next year, designed to accommodate up to nine passengers, further broadening its reach in the electric people mover segment.
Kia's strategic focus on electric vehicles has yielded significant results, with the brand emerging as Europe's fastest-growing top 10 passenger-car brand through August of the previous year. Between January and August 2026, Kia recorded 377,078 vehicle registrations, marking a 9% increase compared to the same period in the prior year. In the UK, Kia has distinguished itself as the second-best-selling electric car brand during the first nine months of 2026, trailing only Tesla. This strong performance highlights Kia's growing influence and successful transition in the electric vehicle market, offering a compelling blend of affordability, space, and eco-friendly transportation.
