Moving away from the conventional approach of a singular, specialized model, Ram plans to offer a diverse array of muscle trucks. At the pinnacle of this new collection is the Rumble Bee SRT, a formidable machine equipped with the same supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat Hemi V8 engine found in the TRX. This powertrain generates an impressive 777 horsepower and 680 pound-feet of torque, propelling the truck from 0 to 60 mph in a blistering 3.4 seconds and completing a quarter-mile run in 11.6 seconds at 116 mph. Ram is targeting a top speed of 170 mph, which would surpass the 154.587-mph record previously held by the Dodge Ram SR10 from two decades ago, showcasing a significant leap in performance capabilities.
Beyond the flagship SRT, the Rumble Bee series introduces two other key models: the standard Rumble Bee and the Rumble Bee 392, with an additional 392 Track Pack variant. Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis emphasizes that these models are crucial for capturing the heart of the market, anticipating that they will account for the majority of sales. The base Rumble Bee features a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, dubbed the "Eagle," producing 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. Notably, this engine, along with the 6.4-liter available in the 1500 for the first time, will forgo Ram's eTorque mild-hybrid system and stop-start technology. The 6.4-liter "Apache" engine in the 392 model delivers 470 horsepower and 455 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed 8HP75 automatic transmission, while the SRT utilizes a more robust 8HP95 gearbox.
Every Rumble Bee model incorporates a Borg-Warner 48-11 transfer case with a front-axle disconnect, allowing drivers to channel all power to the rear wheels at the touch of a button. An optional asymmetrical limited-slip differential will further enhance handling, particularly with the 392 Track Pack. This performance package introduces "E-Spool" technology, specifically designed for drag racing starts and burnouts by electronically locking the rear axle and distributing torque between the tires. The 392 Track Pack and SRT variants are fitted with massive 325-millimeter tires, second only in width to those on the Viper, mounted on equally wide 22-by-12-inch wheels. These wheels conceal substantial 16.1-inch front rotors and six-piston Brembo brakes. The interior echoes the performance theme with Rumble Bee branding, a flat-bottom steering wheel, aluminum paddle shifters, and up to a 14.5-inch infotainment screen. A premium Harman Kardon sound system with 19 speakers, including a 10.0-inch subwoofer, completes the experience. The 2027 Ram 1500 Rumble Bee is slated for release in late 2026, with the 392 and SRT models following in the first half of 2027.
