The core issue lies with the front seatbelt anchors, which, according to the official recall documentation, might not be adequately attached due to damage incurred during the manufacturing process, routine servicing, or prior repairs. This could lead to the anchors detaching, compromising the seatbelt's effectiveness in a collision.
Hyundai first identified this potential problem in the autumn of 2025, prompting an immediate and thorough investigation.
