Should this occur while the truck is in operation, the detached part could become hazardous road debris.

Toyota has announced that owner notification letters will begin to be dispatched around September 21, 2026, with most owners expected to receive them by early October. However, owners are not required to await postal notification. It is strongly recommended that current Tacoma owners verify if their vehicle is part of this recall by utilizing Toyota's official recall lookup tool or the NHTSA website's VIN check facility.
