Owners of Hyundai and Genesis electric vehicles in the U.S. are now able to access significantly reduced rates at Ionna's Rechargery charging stations. This initiative involves two combined discounts, effectively positioning Ionna as a highly competitive and economical choice for EV fast charging across the nation. The collaboration aims to enhance the EV ownership experience by lowering operational costs for drivers of these brands.

Ionna's charging network has garnered recognition for its reliability and quality infrastructure, previously ranking highly in customer satisfaction surveys. Building on this reputation, the partnership with Hyundai and Genesis introduces immediate financial benefits for their customers. As of August 20, drivers can take advantage of a dual discount system: one 10% reduction valid until September 30, and another perpetual 10% discount. This brings the standard charging rate of $0.39 per kilowatt-hour down to an attractive $0.31 per kilowatt-hour, excluding taxes.

To avail these savings, users must initiate their charging sessions through their respective car manufacturer's smartphone application or utilize the Plug & Charge functionality, provided their vehicle supports it and the feature has been pre-configured. It's important to note that these discounts are not applied when using on-site credit card readers directly. This streamlined process aims to offer convenience while ensuring drivers benefit from the promotional pricing.

Currently, several Hyundai and Genesis EV models are compatible with this discounted charging system. For Hyundai, this includes the 2022 and newer Ioniq 5, the upcoming 2025 and newer Ioniq 5 N, the 2026 and newer Ioniq 9, and the 2025 and newer Kona Electric. Certain 2022-2024 Ioniq 5 models exclusively support in-app charging. On the Genesis side, the GV60 and Electrified GV70, from the 2026 model year onwards, are equipped to handle both in-app charging and Plug & Charge, allowing their owners to fully benefit from the Ionna offers.

It is worth noting that the Hyundai Ioniq 6, despite its recent discontinuation in the U.S. market, is not yet listed among the compatible models. However, Hyundai has indicated plans to extend in-app charging capabilities to additional models later this year, potentially including the Ioniq 6. Similarly, Kia, another partner in the Ionna venture, has yet to introduce similar charging incentives for its EV lineup.
