Gordon Murray's $3 Million Track Beast Nears Production

Unleashing the Ultimate Track Experience
The Genesis of an Extreme Machine: T.50s Niki Lauda's Journey to Production
It's remarkable to consider that Gordon Murray's groundbreaking T.50 supercar, first unveiled in 2020, is already celebrating its sixth year since debut. The road-legal versions, all 100 units, were swiftly acquired by enthusiasts. However, an even more formidable variant, the T.50s Niki Lauda, is on the verge of being released this year. This track-exclusive model is an intensified iteration of the original T.50, boasting a staggering 761 horsepower and a $3.0 million valuation. After its initial concept reveal in 2021, Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) is now in the final stages of preparing this track behemoth for production.
Bahrain Circuit Trials: Racing Legend's Verdict on the T.50s
Recent disclosures from GMA have shed light on the T.50s's progress, accompanied by captivating imagery of the hypercar undergoing rigorous testing at the Bahrain International Circuit. Piloting the vehicle was the esteemed racing icon Dario Franchitti, who offered nothing but effusive praise for its capabilities. Franchitti described the T.50s as the most immersive vehicle he has ever operated, surpassing even his favorite supercars and championship-winning race cars in terms of sheer enjoyment. He commended the team for flawlessly achieving Gordon Murray's vision of creating the definitive on-track driving experience, highlighting its impeccable feedback, responsiveness, performance, auditory presence, visibility, braking, and stability.
Engineering Marvel: Power, Precision, and Aerodynamic Mastery
At the heart of the T.50s Niki Lauda lies a 3.9-liter Cosworth V12 engine, unleashing an astonishing 761 horsepower at 11,500 rpm, with a redline soaring to an incredible 12,100 rpm. This immense power is managed through a six-speed paddle-shift transmission. The car features a distinctive central driving position and a comprehensively adjustable aerodynamic package, capable of generating up to 2,645 pounds of downforce. Furthermore, its overall curb weight is kept remarkably low, just under 2,000 pounds, underscoring its design philosophy centered on agility and performance.
Anticipated Deliveries: The Exclusive Arrival of the T.50s
While four customer vehicles have already been assembled, the production rate for the T.50s is set to escalate significantly in the coming weeks. Remarkably, all 25 units of this limited-edition hypercar have already been reserved. GMA has confirmed that these exclusive machines are expected to reach their discerning owners before the close of the year, marking the culmination of an ambitious project that pushes the boundaries of track performance.
