Illinois Activates First Federally Funded EV Charging Station

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has officially launched the state's first electric vehicle charging facility funded by the federal government. This new station, located at a Phillips 66 Mach 1 site in Casey, IL, features advanced high-speed chargers, marking a crucial step in the state's EV infrastructure development. The four DC fast-charging ports, operating on the Electrify America network, can each deliver up to 350 kW of power. This development was made possible by an $854,641 grant awarded to Phillips 66 through the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program.
