It promises to be a day filled with classic cars and the joy of giving through the toy drive.

An Event with Multiple Categories and Awards

All the cars participating in this show will be judged in eight distinct classes. These classes include Best Interior, Engine, Paint, Sports Car, Truck, Pre ‘60, Post ‘60, and Best in Show. Additionally, a People’s Choice award will be selected, adding an extra element of excitement and community involvement.

Best Interior - A Showcase of Interior Craftsmanship

The Best Interior category will display the meticulous attention to detail in the interiors of the classic cars. Each vehicle will be evaluated on the quality of the upholstery, the design of the dashboard, and the overall aesthetic appeal of the interior. For example, one might find a classic Chevrolet with a beautifully restored leather interior, showcasing the craftsmanship of a bygone era. The competition in this category is fierce, as car enthusiasts appreciate the artistry that goes into creating a stunning interior.

Engine - The Heart of the Classic Cars

The Engine category focuses on the powerhouses that make these classic cars run. Mechanics and car lovers alike will be fascinated by the different engine configurations and modifications. Some cars may have original engines with a vintage charm, while others might have modern upgrades to enhance performance. Take, for instance, a Ford Mustang with a high-performance engine that roars to life, demonstrating the raw power that these classic cars are known for.

Paint - A Colorful Display of Automotive Art

The Paint category is a visual feast, with cars showcasing a wide range of colors and finishes. From classic reds and blues to more unique and vibrant hues, the paint on these cars tells a story. Some cars have been meticulously restored with original paint jobs, while others have been given a modern twist with custom paint designs. A 1967 Camaro with a candy apple red paint job stands out, turning heads and adding a touch of nostalgia to the event.

Sports Car - The Speed and Style Combined

Sports cars are the epitome of speed and style, and this category will feature some of the most iconic sports cars from different eras. The sleek designs and powerful engines of these cars are sure to impress. Imagine a Porsche 911 with its aerodynamic lines and roaring engine, embodying the spirit of sports car racing. It's not just about the speed but also the elegance and grace of these vehicles.

Truck - The Workhorses of the Road

Trucks have always been a part of American culture, and this category will highlight the ruggedness and utility of these vehicles. From classic pickups to larger commercial trucks, there will be a diverse range on display. A Ford F-150 with its sturdy build and towing capacity is a perfect example of a truck that combines functionality with style.

Pre ‘60 - A Glimpse into the Past

Cars from the pre-1960 era bring a sense of history and nostalgia to the show. These vintage cars have a unique charm and character that is hard to replicate. A 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air with its tailfin design and chrome accents is a true classic, representing a bygone era of automotive design.

Post ‘60 - The Evolution of Classic Cars

After 1960, classic car design continued to evolve, and this category will showcase the diversity of cars from that era. From muscle cars to sleek sedans, there is a wide variety to admire. A 1970 Dodge Charger with its bold lines and powerful presence is a prime example of a post-1960 classic car.

All You Need to Know About the 2025 Chicago Auto Show's Return
The 2025 Chicago Auto Show is set to make a grand comeback at McCormick Place on February 8, 2025. Spanning from February 8 to 17, this much-loved car show will offer a plethora of exciting features. It will feature new indoor and outdoor test tracks, a diverse range of novel vehicles, and the much-anticipated return of the “Chicago Drives Electric” exhibit. Here, Chicagoans will have the opportunity to listen as auto industry experts delve deep into the world of electric cars.

Experience the Electric Revolution at the 2025 Chicago Auto Show

New Test Tracks and Electric Vehicles

It seems that the 2025 Chicago Auto Show is truly focused on all things electric. Organizers are working hard to set up two separate electric tracks in the testing area, a significant increase from the single track in 2024. This expansion showcases the growing importance of electric vehicles in the automotive industry. In addition to the ride-alongs, consumers can visit the EV education hub to gain a deeper understanding of pressing EV topics such as at-home charging, range anxiety, maintenance, and associated ownership costs. This educational aspect allows consumers to make more informed decisions when it comes to purchasing an electric vehicle.

The decision to expand EV programming is a strategic one based on extensive research. As Chicago Auto Show general manager Jennifer Morand stated in an official statement, “We learned that once people experience an EV, they feel more comfortable with the idea of owning one.” This sentiment highlights the power of hands-on experiences in shaping consumer attitudes towards electric vehicles.

Attendees can look forward to encountering more brands and models added to the two EV test tracks. This allows them to cross-shop and experience a wide range of EVs all in one location. It provides a unique opportunity for consumers to compare different models and make more informed choices.

Other Exciting Experiences

As part of the Toyota Miles Per Hour Run event on February 9, attendees can run through a 2.4-mile loop within McCormick Place. This adds an element of excitement and physical activity to the auto show.

On Automotive Career Day on February 12, students of all ages are encouraged to learn more about careers within the automotive industry through a series of activations and presentations. This provides a valuable educational opportunity for the next generation of automotive professionals.

A new area on the show floor will focus on the off-road and outdoor lifestyle. Within the family fun zone, children ages 2 to 16 can immerse themselves in all things cars. This creates a fun and engaging environment for the whole family.

You probably won't want to miss the indoor craft beer sampling event scheduled for February 14 either. It offers a unique culinary experience that complements the automotive theme.

Tickets to the Chicago Auto Show are currently available right here, and you can find more information about the event here. Don't miss out on this amazing event!
