Former Haas team principal Guenther Steiner has attributed Aston Martin's recent points acquisition at the Dutch Grand Prix solely to Fernando Alonso's stellar performance.
Aston Martin arrived at the Zandvoort circuit with high hopes, equipped with an upgraded power unit from Honda and a revised B-spec car introduced at the Hungarian Grand Prix. However, the initial results were disappointing, with both Lance Stroll and Alonso finishing the sprint race in 17th and 18th positions, respectively, and securing similar grid slots for the main event. Despite Stroll's early retirement due to a collision, Alonso skillfully navigated the chaotic opening lap and executed an aggressive one-stop pit strategy, ultimately securing ninth place and two vital points for the team.
